The collection consists of magnetic tapes – properties of Association of Folk Musicians in Zbąszyń. They contain material gathered by Antoni Jarzewski in late 60s and early 70s. It is very diverse and only some part of it is folklore-related, i.a. melodies played on kozioł (local kind of bagpipe called kozioł – goat) performed by a famous musician Tomasz Śliwa (black and white kozioł, sierszeńki and mazanki) and other kozioł players and bagpipers (Czesław Mańczak, Jan Pajchrowski) as well as children that had been learning folk instruments in classes. Performance of the Wesele Przyprotyńskie (Przyprostnia Wedding)group has also been recorded on the tapes.
In the collection we can find broadcasts about music by the head of Zbąszyń music school of that time. In those we can hear teachers (i.a. Tomasz Śliwa) and Antoni Janiszewski’s sound notes (concerning school matters) and other social activities (meetings or not folklore-related classes).
Antoni Janiszewski’s scores of folk songs written for different sets of instruments (school orchestra with goats, group of achordeonists) and performance of Shawm Players Group „Zbąszyńskie Dziewczęta” as well as the recording of Zbąszyńskie Koziołki (traditional folk melodies from the region transcribed for goats with an orchestra) are particularly interesting. The documentation of Association of Folk Musicians in Zbąszyń within the Polish traditional music – phonographic heritage project has been digitalized and developed by Ewelina Grygier.
