Recordings of the Singing Ensamble “Bagnoszki” from Drelów (southern Podlasie)This little private collection, that includes only six cassette tapes, belongs to the Singing Ensamble from Drelów (later called Singing Ensamble “Bagnoszki”). On the tapes there are over 90 traditional songs and couplets, typical for the ethnocultural group called Bagnosze (the area including villages: Szóstka, Worsy, Wólka Łózecka, Łózki, Kwasowka, Przechodzisko, Drelów, Pereszczówka, Utrówka, Bereza, Zahajki, Żerocin, Szachy, Rudniki, Sitno, Dołha and Puchacze).

Recordings contain the most recognizable female singers of Bagnosze, each with their own repertoire and style of performing, i.o. Bronisława Sabaciuk “Kwasowiec”, Katarzyna Filipiuk from Żerocin, Franciszka Marczuk from Drelow, Marianna “Wanda” Sawczuk from Drelow and Irena Uss from Leszczanki – all born in the first decades of XXth century. We can also hear songs performed by the Singing Ensamble from Drelow and unnamed women from Żerocin and Leszczanki.Singing Ensamble’s documentation has been digitalized by Maciej Królikowski, developed and described by Angelika Magier within the Polish folk music – phonographic heritage project.
