The museum’s collection includes the recordings registered by Barbara Krzyżaniak in Pałuki. The museum recieved them in April 1997.
Original sound recorded in 1961, 1965 and 1967 on szpulowe taśmy magnetyczne by Barbara Krzyzaniak and Barbara Michalak, Jarosław Lisakowski and Aleksandra Pawlak (Klata Prillowa from Kcynia has found many sources and accompanied with the violin during some recordings) as well as the recordings on the casettes (copies of the originals) can be found in the collection. It existst thanks to Czesław Białek – Jesuit priest and anthropologist – who initiated and financed the research and field works.

539 songs in total have been recorded in Pałuki in Kcynia, Grocholin, Iwno Rozpętek (Kcynia district), Słupy, (Szubin district), Stołężyn (Wapno district) and Panigródź (Gołańcz district). Apart from the music, the collection includes interviews concerning observances and tradition. Each tape has an original signatureT1AB-T12AB, as well as a signature given later by the museum: MRW-888/e/T1 – MRW-888/e/T12.
The collection also includes written documentation – track-lists, catalogue cards clasifying material by the subject, files with the description of rituals and traditions (carolling, schrovetide, Easter dyngus, harvest festivals, family celebrations: weddings, baptisms, funeral), fileswith the music transcriptions (notebooks with the transcriptions by J. Lisakowski and A. Pawlak), manuscripts by B. Krzyżaniak and other material.
The documentation of the Wąfrowiec Regional Museum’s collection is being digitalized within the Polish folk music – phonographic heritage project by Jakub Szczepaniak.
